Dr John Wilcox

John Wilcox is a highly accomplished veterinary surgeon.

John completed his veterinary degree at Sydney University, and is now a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery and was awarded a Practice of Excellence Award by the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association.

Yet it’s not only his excellent medical credentials, but his love and dedication to all animals that ensures your pets are in the safest of hands with John. In fact, it was this same animal compassion that ensured it was an easy decision for him to give a home to a beautiful young stray kitten, rescued from the Lane Cove National Park, which he named Zac.

Alongside being a vet surgeon, he is also responsible for mentoring other veterinarians. He also recently completed a course in veterinary behaviour and has developed advanced skills in laparoscopic surgery.

In his spare time, John loves to go open water swimming (having once swum with humpback whales!) and volunteers at the Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club.

John has been with the VetMed family since 2009.
