Lilliana Thornton

Dr Lilliana Thornton

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lily grew up in the country with a menagerie of pets and has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of twelve. Lily graduated from The University of Sydney in 2021, where she was awarded her Bachelor in Veterinary Biology and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Whilst studying, Lily also worked as a veterinary nurse at our Randwick clinic, and has been a familiar face within our team for almost a decade.

Lily cannot imagine a more rewarding and important profession, and this shows in her gentle and thorough patient and client care. Lily has completed extensive additional study in Internal Medicine, with particular interests in Endocrine disease (especially Canine Cushing’s Disease and Feline Hyperthyroidism), as well as Gastrointestinal, Kidney and Cardiac disease. She has also completed additional training in Ultrasonography Imaging, and is experienced in Cardiac and Abdominal Ultrasonography. Lily is a Fear-Free accredited veterinarian and an organiser of our Rescue Kitten Rehoming Program, which has found loving homes for a number of stray kittens.

Lily has two rescue cats, Valhalla and Narnia, who both sit, stay and high-five (for treats, of course). When she’s not busy working at Vetmed or studying, Lily enjoys hiking and cooking with her partner, reading and drawing. Lily is also currently writing and illustrating a children’s short story inspired by the animal kinship so integral to her work as a veterinarian. Lily works primarily at our Randwick and Northbridge Vetmed clinics.
